Delivering New Technology
Our product development programme is driven by the market’s need to improve, so we continue to innovate, develop products and create new technology to deliver better ways of working.
We use the latest design, FEA and engineering software, alongside a fully kitted workshop for prototype testing, development and verification. We can transfer this expertise to other sectors, for example, solving problems in gas storage, mineral extraction and CCS.
We have developed a broad range of more agile equipment and introduced digital solutions and additive manufacturing (AM) processes to improve efficiencies and lower our carbon footprint.
Unity is a leading provider of AM components for the energy industry. This approach offers attractive cost-savings and efficiencies, reducing raw materials, waste and operator investment in stock holding. Single items are available fast, with an impressive 90% average reduction in lead time.
Technology transfer across energy sectors
Our Wells, Innovation and Decom solutions suit all well types, no matter which sector. With thirty years of experience in traditional oil and gas operations, including mitigating the risks of harsh downhole environments, we are well positioned to support other sectors including subsea, mineral extraction, gas, hydrogen, geothermal and CCUS projects.
We have already transitioned surface technology into the subsea sector and transferred our well integrity expertise to support a new state of the art polyhalite mine.
As new wells are installed, mature wells are reinvigorated or stock is re-purposed from one sector or well type to another, our in-depth knowledge of full welllbore integrity will extend productive life and ensure safe and efficient operations for future generations.
